Imane “Pokimane” Anys has announced that she will be taking an indefinite break from the Twitch broadcast. For a long period of time, Pokimane has been the largest live streamer on Twitch, not to mention one of the most viewed content creators on the platform overall. And while its success here will continue into 2022, The Long Channel revealed that it’s now looking to step aside to spend some time recharging.
Pokimane revealed on Twitter this afternoon that she has decided to step out of the spotlight for now. She hasn’t specified what exactly she’ll be stopping by as part of this break, but her frequent Twitch streams seem to be the main thing that’s going to end now. She also thanked her viewers for allowing her to take a break like this to begin.
“I was feeling the need to reset my mind and take some time to focus on myself [and] my life right now. [In my opinion] Adequate rest periods are essential to a person’s health [and] Career longevity, and I am so grateful for the support you have given me over the years. “Thank you for putting me in a position where I can take a vacation like this,” Bokimane said of her decision. At this time, the biggest question surrounding Pokimane’s decision to leave Twitch comes with her comeback. Based on her statement alone, Pokimane hasn’t given a timeline on when she will return to broadcasting regularly. As such, it’s hard to know if this break will last a few days, weeks, or even months. No matter how long this takes, Pokimane will definitely announce itself on social media in advance when its first broadcast appears on Twitch.
